2001 SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE REPORT
National Order of Omega

December 1, 2001

Announcement and Application Guidelines 

Postcard announcements for the Scholarship awards were mailed in September 2001 and reminder email and postcard announcements in October 2001 (with instructors to visit the National Order of Omega website www.orderofomega.org) to Greek Advisors and Graduate Assistants via the Association of Fraternity Advisors mailing directory and to active and inactive chapters of the National Order of Omega via the National Order of Omega mailing directory.  

A total of ninety-eight (98) scholarship applications (91 Order of Omega chapters) were received by the October 19, 2001 postmarked deadline and reviewed by the 2001 Scholarship Committee.

Committee and Selection Process 

The Scholarship Committee was composed of student affairs staff at Texas Tech University including:

The Scholarship Committee reviewed the Scholarship applications from November 21, 2001 through November 28, 2001 and finalized recommendations on November 30, 2001. 

Scholarship Recommendations and Awards 

On December 1, 2001 the Executive Council along with members of the Board of Directors and Province Directors attending the annual meeting of the Association of Fraternity Advisors (AFA) and National Interfraternity Conference (NIC) at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City in Washington, D.C. discussed the recommendations or the Scholarship Committee. 

The Board, Executive Council, Province Directors, and Scholarship Committee approved on December 1, 2001 ten (10) $750 Scholarships, forty (40) $500 Scholarships, and forty-one (41) $100 Scholarships be awarded from the National Order of Omega for 2001 as follows:
