In conjunction with the National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week (NCAAW), Order of Omega sponsors an award in the amount of $500 to recognize an Order of Omega Chapter or organization that has furthered the importance of alcohol and drug awareness education on their campus. Alcohol and drug issues are a problem among college-age youth, which is why it is imperative that the program is not related to any campus sanctions. Only through effective educational efforts - most often developed, coordinated, or led by student leaders - will problems diminish and students learn the dangers of abuse. The Order of Omega Alcohol and Drug Education Award will go to a Chapter or organization that has made a significant impact on campus through developing or coordinating a program, or by leading an initiative on campus that helps educate students about the dangers of misusing alcohol and drugs.
Applications and supporting documents are due by Tuesday, November 30, 2010.
